Ayuttaya

Our day in ayuttaya was amazing. We rented these rickety bikes and dove into the traffic (including crazy intersection with no traffic signals). Rode to the ruins and attempted to get to the floating market. More about that later. There are soooo many amazing ruins here it's crazy. Ayuttaya used to be the trading capital of Asia until the Burmese came in and destroyed the city and burned it down.
One of the cool things was a Buddha head that a tree had grown around. Then we too tuk tuks down and toured around the city on a boat, making stops to view temples and more ruins.
Then back to the guest house for a relaxing beer on the deck with Naing and Gohing our WONDERFUL AND CUTE hosts.

Ok so I need to get some sleep.

Ayuttaya

We are up on Ayuttays (which we can never pronounce)and do excited to be here. The family we are staying with are so kind and so cute! But first I need to say how unbelievable the poverty was as ee were pulling out of the stain station in Bangkok. Directly adjacent to the tracks were hand made structures consisting of corrugated metal, many with ony three walls (you could see directly into the one room shacks) and dirt floors. There were baskets of fish and peppers hanging from roofs to dry that wee so close tongue train you had to keep you arm in or you would hit it.
Anyway, out of the city and into the country. Our place is incredibly cute. Comes cimplete with a great wooden deck and 50 cent beer. Went to to a little restraunt about 12 tables up on a wooden platform open walls and delicious food. 7 of us ate, including 2 appituzers4 We're here in Thailand. Wow what a long travel day. But the hotel is fabulous and we had a long but huge beers waters and tea for $22
Then we went to experience some of the ruins lit up at night time. All I can say is AWSOME!!

Bangkok temples continued

Just a quick note, the rest of Bangkok consisted of markets the Wat Pho and the craziest traffic you will ever experience. I just wanted to add some of the photos.

Bankok temples

Yesterday was pretty interesting. Started with seeing the grand palace established in 1782 dirbKing Rama I. It is a huge complex of gold gilded ornate structures and temples including a reliquary in the shape of a golden Cheri;the Mondop, the Royal Monastry on the emerald Buddaha; a miniature Angkor Wat crafted by order of th king Mongut an many other temples shrines and government offices. We visited an outdoor market and the Wat Pho; temple of the famous golden reclining Buddha. I'm out of time I'll have to continue later
